Who We Are
As a high school student who has been exposed to the musical world for over 13 years now, Selena Lu noticed that there are children in local communities who have a strong passion for music but are not fortunate enough to afford to rent or purchase quality instruments. That’s when she came up with Musical Motives. With Musical Motives, she hopes to work with other students and organizations to help children pursue their passion in music.

Selena Lu - Founder; President

Selena Lu is a current junior at Great Neck South High School. With over 13 years over experience on the piano, 6 years on the cello, and almost 3 years of professional training at the precollege program and the Manhattan School of Music in New York, she founded Musical Motives in hopes of supporting the musical passion of other children and at the same time spreading her love for music.
Lucy Xiao - Vice-President

Lucy Xiao, currently attending the Stony Brook School. Has 8 years of experience in violin and is currently part of the Metropolitan Youth Orchestra. Out of her passion for music, she wants to help others discover their journey with music.
